Stožac is, as well as Klek, a favourite Ogulin mountaineering destination both for climbers and other lovers of nature. It is 808 metres above sea level, and its name derives from its conical shape (“stožac” meaning cone).
A small house was built directly under the summit. The nature lover Mijo Stipetić, a mountaineer, built 350 steps of round beech logs in order to make climbing easier.
